The proposed three-day hands-on training will deeply cover the practical application of various fiber optic sensors, emphasizing the limitations of fiber optic sensor applications in biomedical and structural health monitoring, reflecting the team's unique competencies in these fields.
The scope of training includes measuring the basic parameters of fiber optic sensors - mainly focused on Bragg grating (FBG) sensors, showing the possibilities of compensating for the influence of temperature, presenting technological challenges and solutions connected with integrating fiber optic sensors with composite materials or 3D printing (smart materials) and discussing the concepts of integration of the sensor system with photonic integrated circuits (PICs) as well.
