The Phortify consortium is pleased to announce the upcoming Phortify Industry Meeting, taking place on 16 September 2026 in Jena, Germany.
This event will bring together partners from industry and academia to foster dialogue, exchange perspectives, and jointly shape academic education in photonics based on current and future industry needs. In a workshop-style setting, participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and experts from across the photonics ecosystem, exchange practical insights, and contribute to discussions on strengthening collaboration between higher education and industry.
The Industry Meeting is designed as a space for meaningful dialogue, bringing together voices from research, innovation, and talent development. Through presentations, discussions, and interactive exchanges with invited speakers, the event aims to strengthen cooperation within the Phortify project and align educational efforts with the skills and expertise needed in the rapidly evolving photonics sector.
On 15 September 2026, one day before the Industry Meeting and co-located in Jena, participants are also warmly invited to join Photonic Days 2026. As one of Jena’s longstanding photonics events, it offers additional opportunities to connect with experts, industry representatives, and talented young professionals in optics and photonics. The programme includes lab tours in photonics and quantum technologies, a cleanroom visit, and the traditional Industry Photonics Dinner, creating valuable moments for networking with regional and international high-tech stakeholders.
The programme welcomes representatives from R&D, HR, tech clusters, and multipliers, offering opportunities to exchange ideas across different perspectives while building stronger connections throughout the European photonics ecosystem.
The Phortify consortium also continues to strengthen collaboration between students and industry through a dedicated platform where companies can share internship and master’s thesis opportunities, helping connect talented students with real-world challenges and future career opportunities.
