Phortify Consortium Meeting in Milan

Phortify Consortium Meeting in Milan

On March 2–3, the Phortify consortium gathered in Milan, Italy, for an in-person meeting hosted by Politecnico di Milano. The two-day meeting brought together the consortium partners to review progress, align on upcoming activities and further develop the educational framework of the project.

The meeting provided an important opportunity for the partners to discuss the development of the Phortify courses and training modules, which aim to strengthen advanced digital skills in photonics. By combining expertise from leading universities, research institutes and industry partners, the consortium is working to build a comprehensive educational ecosystem that prepares the next generation of photonics specialists.

During the sessions, partners reviewed the progress of the work packages, discussed key milestones and deliverables and coordinated the next steps for the implementation of the Phortify curriculum. Special attention was given to the development of new learning modules, collaboration between institutions and strategies to ensure strong engagement with both academia and industry.

In addition to technical discussions, the meeting also served as a valuable platform for strengthening collaboration within the consortium. Face-to-face exchanges enabled partners to share ideas, address challenges and align their efforts toward the common goal of advancing photonics education in Europe.

The discussions in Milan marked an important step toward the implementation of the Phortify programme, which aims to provide innovative educational opportunities, hands-on training and strong links between academia and industry to help address the growing demand for skilled photonics professionals.

The consortium will continue its collaborative work in the coming months as it moves forward with the development and rollout of Phortify educational activities and initiatives..
