Phortify will take part in the upcoming 360 Carla Health event, taking place on April 29, 2026, at the VUB Rectorate building (Bream) and online. The event brings together experts, professionals, and students to explore innovation and career opportunities at the intersection of science, technology, and health.
As part of the programme, Phortify contributes to the discussion on education and career pathways in photonics. This field continues to play a key role in advancing healthcare technologies and broader innovation.
Two speakers will represent this perspective:
Heidi Ottevaere, Programme Director of the MSc in Photonics Engineering at VUB–B-PHOT, will present “Master Your Future in Photonics: Phortify”. Her talk will highlight educational opportunities in photonics and how students can build a strong foundation for careers in this rapidly evolving field.
Sara Van Overmeire, Advisor at VLAIO, will share her professional journey in “From Light to Leverage – My Journey from Photonics to Supporting Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. Her talk offers insight into how a background in photonics can open diverse career paths beyond academia, including roles in innovation support and policy.
Together, these contributions reflect Phortify’s mission to guide and support the next generation of photonics professionals by connecting education, industry, and real-world career perspectives.
The event is open to students, researchers, and anyone interested in learning more about photonics and its applications in health and innovation.
